9 DAYS KILIMANJARO CLIMB-NORTHERN CIRCUIT

The Kilimanjaro northern circuit route follows little used paths around the 4300m contour line that shows the Adansonia Safari the perfect solitude and wilderness of the mountain.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Shira I Camp (3500m)

Lunch on the trail head then begin the 1 – 2 hours walking to shira plateau. Tonight camp provide a dramatic view of Kilimanjaro & glaciers. The camp is not crowded and the views of the mountain are spectaculars.

Day 2: Shira I Camp – Shira II camp (3990m)northern circuit-kilimanjaro

This is an easy walk today and special day for acclimatization, enjoy a gentle walk across the shira plateau into moorland of Kilimanjaro for 4 – 5 hours hiking.

Day 3: Shira II – Moir Camp (4175m)

Moir Camp is a seldom used camp and yet very scenic camp on Kilimanjaro with good views. 3 hours walking.

Day 4: Moir Camp – Pofu camp (4100m)

Pofu camp is located in the northern side of the mountain and we will walk towards north crossing the barren moutain desert when you will enjoy the vast untravelled mountain wildernings. Our customers will get chance to explore this area where other trekkers are rarely seen. 7 hours walking.

Day 5: Pofu Camp – Third Cave (3935m)

This is untravelled mountain wilderness and third cave is located is located in the eastern side of the mountain.
Hiking 6 hours.

Day 6: Third Cave – Kibo Camp (3750m)

The trek across the impressive saddle between Mawenzi & Kibo, admiring the spectaculary shark landscape. Temperature turn into cold as you get near the foot of the mountain.

Day 7: Kibo Camp – Crater camp (5730m)

Depart after breakfast along a steep slope with loose rock, scree and boulders as you near Gilmans point then 1.5 hours to crater camp for view & overnight.

Day 8 Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka high camp (9790m)

After early breakfast make 1.5hours hike to Uhuru peak, reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro around 8:30AM. Before the clouds set in enjoy 360o view of Africa on top of Kilimanjaro with African Outreach Adventures.

Descend via the Mweka route, then the edge of a rain forest area for tonight camp.

Day 9: Mweka gate: (1800m)

Here you will bid farewell to your crew and transfer back to the hotel in Arusha for well deserved shower and dinner.
