On this 3-day camping safari you will see a wide variety of wildlife in the midst of some of the most diverse landscapes – monkeys in the forest, lions in trees, elephants amongst acacias and a selection of animals inside a collapsed volcano. Not only will you visit Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park but also drive into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning you will be collected from your hotel in Arusha and make your way to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle you will scan the seasonal swamps, savannah and Tarangire River in search of zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, waterbuck and reedbucks. With a bit of luck you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards lying lazily in the trees above. After an extensive game drive, having experienced the various sights and sounds of the wilderness, you will leave the park and head to a nearby campsite, where you will stay the evening.
Lunch; Dinner

Day 2 Tarangire Area – Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast you will leave the Tarangire Area and drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, is almost 20km wide, approximately 600 m deep and is known for its large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The various springs found on the caldera floor attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks and more than 500 bird species. At a picnic site you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater. You will leave the crater in the afternoon and drive to a campsite on the crater’s edge for your overnight.
Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 3 Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

Early risers will be rewarded with the breath-taking orange glow of the sun rising over the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast, you will leave the highlands and travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow and alkaline lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. In the afternoon, you will return to Arusha, where your safari ends.
